The Coordinator maintains transparent processes and accurate documentation to ensure the murals reflect the community’s culture and contribute to a lasting, inclusive public art environment.

Scope of work

  3. Plan and facilitate the monthly Art Review Committee meeting, including preparing final submission materials for review.
  4. Educate new artists on guidelines, safety requirements, and clean-worksite practices.
  5. Coordinate marketing and promotion, including press releases, social media collaboration, and collaboration with local agencies, businesses, and community partners; support sponsorship outreach.
  6. Maintain relationships with photographers and drone specialists for accurate project documentation and allocation of quotes for PCD to consider.
  7. Communicate regularly with the PCD board, provide monthly updates during PCD board meetings, and relay concerns or challenges.
  8. Follow up with approved artists after PCD approval: complete paperwork, review deposit procedures, and conduct on-site meetings to cover safety and painting best practices.
  9. Maintain relationships with paint vendors (e.g., D&S Paint Supply, Pittsburg Paint reps) regarding accounts, supplies, and product recommendations.
  10. Conduct physical site inspections of the levee wall and trail, monitor mural progress and compliance with safety and clean-worksite practices, and coordinate photographic and drone documentation.
  11. Maintain accurate records: update the database with images and footage, archive all collaborations, sponsorships, and media coverage, and ensure all paperwork is properly filed, and work with the PCD web designer to ensure the website is up-to-date
